Quotes & Testimonials
What women say
- My daughter has learning difficulties and constant UTIs. Its the first time I've been able to collect a urine sample from her. Now, at last, she can be correctly diagnosed and treated.
- Holding the assembled kit by the bottle, I can take a sample from my child without causing distress or unwelcome contact. We can just chat and wait for "it" to happen!
- This product is a miracle!
- Its so clean - I love it!
- Peezy is particularly good for avoiding contamination. Its also good for those with reduced dexterity and so much better for the woman instead of (to put it crudely) peeing all over her hand while trying to aim into a tiny bottle, contaminating the outside of it. Then the health care worker needs to wear gloves - an added expense to the procedure
- There’s no mess. It’s so easy to use. It’s just brilliant!
- Using Peezy would give me confidence
- The Peezy’s great! You can see what you’re doing you can see there’s no mess
- Using Peezy would have been a lot easier and a lot less of a fuss
- Peezy is fantastic. It’s such a great invention. It gives you so much confidence. It’s convenient, simple and easy to use
What clinicians and healthcare leaders say
We can use the Peezy for all types of patients. Pre-assessment MSUs, MSU for cultures, weekly urine testing prior to chemotherapy and so on. It has been easy to use with any age range or dexterity. Have used one today and the lady was so impressed she's been showing all her visitors! It certainly has proven to be a cleaner and innovative product, compared to trying to get ladies to urinate directly into a bottle or risking cross contamination by using a bed pan.
Anthony Barrett, Acting Ward Manager, Urology, North Staffordshire Hospital Trust
I have just had a patient who used the Peezy. She suffers from recurrent UTIs, has a poor flow and found this very good and easy to use.
Deirdre McFadden, Head of Urodynamics, Letterkenny General Hospital, Ireland
I saw a 60-year-old woman with a PMH of diabetes, stroke and with learning difficulties who had been troubled with urge incontinence for some months. We obtained a urine sample for the first time, with no spills. Peezy enabled diagnosis, treatment and also highlighted issues of care and needs of people from marginalised groups.
There is personal satisfaction going the extra mile, using extended holistic nursing skills and it is an advantage having a useful tool at hand to help!
Barbara Oldham, Practice Nurse, Great Yarmouth and Waveney PCT
I gave Peezy to a blind patient recently, showing her how it worked by moving her fingers over the key parts of the device. She told me it worked perfectly and that she’s never before managed to pass a urine specimen without spillage. When I picked up her results, she had a UTI. Peezy worked flawlessly in collecting an uncontaminated sample.
Dr Vincent Forte, GP and Peezy inventor
Peezy is quite simply ingenious. Every so often in life you come across an invention and you think this is so simple and so functional that you wonder why it has taken so long to invent. The beauty of Peezy is that women no longer have to perform the impossible in giving a urine specimen.
Peezy does what it says, bringing dignity to the act of giving a urine sample. It’s quick, easy, and hygienic. Every woman I know thinks its brilliant.
UNISON and its 1.4 million members (mostly women) are proud to be associated with Peezy and hopes to see it in every GP surgery, maternity ward, outpatients department and anywhere that women are required to give a sample. Well done Peezy!
Karen Jennings, National Secretary Health, UNISON
Peezy would give my patients confidence, and provide a better sample, too.
Lisa Massen, Senior Practice Nurse
There is no universally consistent and safe method of MSU collection in general use. The Peezy can change all this and has enormous potential as a tool to help the fight against infections contracted in hospitals and GP surgeries.
Infections that can be carried in urine include chlamydia, gonorrhoea, hepatitis B and C, HIV and MRSA, as well as all the more common organisms of urinary tract infection such as E coli. This elegantly simple device can make a major contribution to improved patient care and the health and safety of doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians, cleaning staff and many others in the NHS.
